What do I need to connect to the C-channel?

You'll need a wireless/Wi-Fi* enabled laptop or smart phone. It is a good idea to make sure your battery is fully charged as we can’t guarantee there will be wall plugs available for your use. Next, turn on your laptop. Go to your wireless network connection and refresh your network list. Choose C-Atlanta Free Wi-Fi or manually set up your SSID to C-Atlanta Free Wi-Fi. Open your browser and enjoy your free connection.

If you’re using Windows, right-click on your wireless connection in the system tray and select “repair.”

Right-click on your wireless network connection and select “disable.”

From the start menu select “My Network Places” then select “View Network Connections.” Find your wireless connection, right-click and select “Enable.”

On a Mac, turn off Airport and turn it back on.

Why can’t I send emails?

Your ability to send e-mail from a C-channel location is somewhat dependent on the policy of the Internet Service Provider (ISP) that provides your home/office internet and e-mail access - some restrict the ability to send email when not connected to the Internet directly through them. If you have problems consider a web based e-mail account for use on the C-channel. It's therefore possible that you may have difficulty sending mail.

Do I need to be inside a C-channel location to pick up the signal?

The wireless signal in most indoor locations has a limited range of approximately 100-300 feet. The placement of the access point and the structure and layout of the locations will impact access to the signal. In some locations the signal probably will be available outside the location as well. Using an antenna with your laptop (if it is so equipped) might help to enhance the signal.

What will you do with my login information?

By logging into the sponsor C-channel location you agree to allow them the opportunity to communicate directly with you. Your information will not be shared or sold in any way. You always retain the ability to unsubscribe to their newsletters.
